Parkways Foundation was created in 1994 as an avenue to provide private support for the Chicago Park District (CPD). The size, scope and vision of the CPD make it virtually impossible to stretch taxpayer dollars to cover every priority. Working in partnership with our board of directors, private donors, foundations and corporations, Parkways is able to provide support for projects that may not otherwise get funded in a timely manner. Through philanthropy, we strive to make dreams come true!

To give to Parkways is to invest in the enrichment of the physical and cultural landscape of Chicago's neighborhoods. Our scope includes but is not limited to the renovation and restoration of landmark architecture and physical infrastructure, the creation of green space and programming to expand and enhance educational opportunities in our neighborhoods. As the largest land owner of public open space in Chicago, CPD manages 552 parks, 250 field houses, 9 museums, 31 miles of shoreline and 9,000 programs annually.
