restore the fountain stories
Buckingham Fountain brings back so many memories of when I lived in Chicago. My parents
would take me and my sister there during the evenings so we could see it illuminated. I want
my son to see it and experience the subtle joys of life!!!
On July 1, 2008, I got engaged in front of the fountain.
Buckingham Fountain is a great place to watch the fireworks. You get the lights of the fountain,
the cool mist, and a spectacular show. I take my kids down there every year.
I live in Wrigleyville and as soon as it gets warm, I ride my bike to Buckingham Fountain to
watch the sun rise. Then I stick around and wait for the fountain to come on. The ciyt is so
quiet and peaceful that time of day, it feels like I'm just relaxing in my own backyear, just a
much better view.
Lollapalooza is always the highlight of my year, with Buckingham Fountain as the centerpiece.
During the day, it cools you off, and at night the dramatic light show illuminates the skyline.
We consider Grant Park and Buckingham Fountain to be the real headlines of Lollapalooza.
